It is difficult to define “sports law” because this area of the law is so wide-ranging. Sports law covers very different legal aspects as it is based on two main pillars: the regulations set by the sports associations and federations on the one hand, and state law with general rules which also apply in sports-related matters on the other hand. This complexity and, in addition, the increasing commercialization of sport, often calls for legal advice and/or legal assistance for participants in professional sports. As rules and regulations apply at all levels of sport, legal advice may also be required in amateur sports.

Sports law is not just my profession but my passion. In this context, I am glad to practise in different roles, e.g. as counsel, consultant, arbitrator or speaker. As the legal partner for federations, associations, athletes, coaches, managers, agents, promoters, sponsors and other sports organisations, I will be pleased to represent your rights face to face with other “players” in the field of sports and, if necessary, also before the legal bodies of sports associations/federations, arbitral tribunals and state courts on the national and international level.
